Here's Elder Warburton's bag ready for the day's harvest.

Elder Easton froze Elder Warburton's chapa because... well I don't know.  You'll have to ask Elder Easton.
Parents, we are keenly aware of the recent loss of three missionaries. One sister serving in the United States died from injuries sustained in a car accident, and around the same time two elders died in Taiwan of suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.   We mourn this great loss to the families and loved ones of these faithful missionaries.

The church requires that each missionary apartment has both a carbon monoxide and smoke detector.  As requested by the church, we are in the process this week of verifying that every apartment still has one of each, and that they work properly.

During the past few days, each companionship in our mission has been asked by his district leader to locate the detectors in his/her apartment, push and hold the test button to verify that it works,  and report back to the district leader.  If they can't find either detector, or one or both doesn't work, they have been asked to order one through the office immediately.

We have talked about these devices many times in the mission, and consider these detectors extremely important in the safety of our missionaries.  The missionaries are also asked to check these detectors EVERY TRANSFER to make sure they are working (and also verify that their fire extinguisher is "in the green").   Not all of them are doing that.  They will hear it again from us, but we'd like for them to hear it from you too.

If you haven't already, please ask your missionary about their detectors, and verify with them that they have located and tested theirs, or that they have replaced batteries or ordered new ones.  This is one of the easiest dangers to protect against with just a few simple steps.

Thank you for sharing your sons and daughters with us.  They are hard-working, thoughtful, and so, so good.  We will try to keep them safe and out of harm's way, and we know that heaven is watching over them too.

  2. Thank you so much for this information. This is exactly what I asked Hermana Andrus last week in the email and she didn't mention it in her reply, so I will ask again. Thank you for all that you do!!! XOXO Sister Debbie Andrus
