A Mission ablaze!

Our missionaries had an amazing week with 17 baptisms the last weekend in July.  Here they are:

Elders Anderson and Geest in Crevillente.  The woman in the picture is the brother of the new convert, and she was baptized 1 year ago by Elders Alejandre and Rodriguez!

Elders Forrest and Mambo with a man who was baptized a few weeks ago.  This man was Elder Mambo's first baptism.

Elders Jordan and Card in Elche

Valdepenas baptized another sister this week.  Elders Mora and Barahona.

It was great week in Malaga!  Here are Elders Pallas and Forrest and Hermanas Nelson and Perera with a man joining the Church in the Malaga 3 Ward.

Sunday, July 29th was a great day in Malaga with 6 baptisms, including several extended family members.  Elders Triana and Thomas are pictured here with those who were baptized.

And Saturday was a great day in Granada!  Elders Shaver and Hatch, and Hermanas Roderick and Ross welcomed 2 families and an individual into the Church! A total of 6 people were baptized there last week.

Now for what else happened in the mission this week:

There were piso checks in Almeria

long tiring travel to specialized training and interviews with President Deere,

more snoozing on the train...

buying giant watermelons,

and seeing really cool places on p-day.

But don't let the more mundane things fool you.  This mission is on fire!

And I mean that literally!

Yep.  That's soot on the wall and ceiling,

and on a white shirt, and on everything else in the whole piso.

Here's what was left of the iron and ironing board that were left on when the missionaries left their piso Monday morning.

Which missionary looks like he ironed his shirt that morning?  Hmmmm...

The moral of this story is:  let's continue to set Spain on fire, but let's be sure to turn off and unplug appliances before leaving our pisos!   Great work Elderes y Hermanas!!

  1. Thank you so much Sister Deere for continuing the blog, my family and I love reading it and staying updated on our little brother. Give Elder Shaver a giant hug from all of us here in Arizona. :)
